Maxwell Alexander Gallery is proud to present:
Maynard Dixon
Lone Pine Desert
10" x 14" (17"x21" framed)
Oil on Canvas Panel
1929
Maynard Dixon spent extended periods in Lone Pine, California during the 1920s, drawn to the Eastern Sierras and the quiet, rugged character of the Owens Valley. The region’s dramatic light, granite surfaces, scattered rocks, and stretches of sagebrush helped shape his shift toward a more modern, distilled style. During his time there, he produced some of his most iconic depictions of the American West, paintings marked by bold silhouettes, low horizons, and a profound sense of solitude. Lone Pine became a creative refuge for Dixon, its landscape leaving a lasting imprint on his artistic voice for years to come.
We are happy to present this oil from 1929 in excellent condition previously owned by a prominent collector of the American West. The painting available for immediate purchase on a first come first served basis.
